Full Moon Day of Waso

This week, we observe the Full Moon Day of Waso (Dhammacakka Day), one of the most sacred days in the Buddhist calendar . This auspicious day commemorates key events in the life of the Buddha, including his conception, his renunciation of worldly life, and his first sermon, the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta, which set in motion the teachings of Buddhism . It also marks the beginning of the Buddhist Lent (Vassa) . Across Myanmar, people will be visiting pagodas to offer Waso robes and flowers, observe religious precepts, and perform meritorious deeds . We wish all those observing this holy day peace, reflection, and spiritual fulfillment.
