This month, our school community will observe the Waso Robe Offering Ceremony (Waso Thingan), a cherished tradition in Theravada Buddhism. During this significant time, which coincides with the beginning of Buddhist Lent (Vassa), devotees offer special yellow robes, known as the Waso robes, along with essential items to the monks. This act of generosity, or 'dana,' honors the monks who will spend the rainy season in meditation and study. We encourage our students and families to participate in this meritorious deed, reflecting on the values of sharing, respect, and spiritual generosity that strengthen both our community and our connection to the Dhamma.
